CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Jeep Renegade has a very large volume of complaints for such a new model, especially compared to other SUVs in the same class.
Most Jeep Renegade complaints are for various problems with interior accessories & electrical systems, as well as squealing brakes, transmission (rough shifting) and engine problems.
I first noticed this problem on 7/10/16, when a passenger was getting into my back seat and stated that I had "standing water" on my floorboards, and I did, 3 inches! I soaked it with a towel and started investigating what in the world caused this -- no determination. Today, 7/17/16, I was cleaning my car and my back passenger floor board, soaked again. I keep the vehicle in a garage when not in use, so I am confused. I plan on taking the car to the dealership this week, its just a matter of time before the carpet mildews. Will update after a trip to the Chrysler dealership.
Thursday night (4-21-2016) it rained heavily. On Friday morning, i went to work. When i got to work, i pulled the camera I had set in the rear passenger floorboard and noticed it was wet (the camera). Then I felt the floor board. It is soaked. I used a roll of shop towels to absorb the water to no avail. Friday, it rained very heavily again. There is now more water in the floorboard. I am bringing it too the dealership today (Saturday 4-23-2016) to see what they have to say about it. I googled a number of forums and I am not alone in the wet floorboards market for the 2015 Jeep Renegade. I have only had this vehicle for 3 weeks. This is unacceptable.
When it rains or water gets on the vehicle, the water seeps in between the door and the frame and sits there. It does not effect the inside however because the moisture stays on the metal it will eventually rust.
