Ever since I got this Jeep in August 2015, there have been electrical issues. I took it to a Jeep dealership several times because the dash lights dim or light up bright for no reason at all. I was told the dash lights are very sensitive and when going in and out of light, they will dim or brighten accordingly. December 2016 the Jeep had to be taken to the dealership due to the heater fan not blowing hot air. The fan can be heard running, but it's not blowing. It supposedly was fixed. Jan 2018 the heater fan is doing the same thing--not blowing. While going thru a drive-thru at a low speed, the vehicle died. The vehicle overheats when idling. The radio changes channels when the temperature gets below 20. The radio scans all channels and does not lock onto one channel. I took it to a Jeep dealership and was told they ordered a new radio and new fan for the engine. Have not heard from them since. This is very aggravating!

The auto lock unlock stopped working inside the car, so the buttons on the driver and passenger door can no longer lock or unlock the doors. The key FOB will no longer lock or unlock any doors. It stopped suddenly for no reason. The batteries in both FOB's are good (I checked). It is strange to me that the FOB and the door button failed simultaneously. However, I can open the driver door with key, and reach across to lock and unlock the passenger door. The Jeep dealer requires the vehicle to be with them a minimum of three days to diagnose this problem. Scheduling a time when I won't need a vehicle for three days is beyond annoying. I won't be able to drop the vehicle off until early August. Until then, I'll have to live with this problem.

On April 27,2017, My Jeep Renegade, Sport was smoking on the highway (SMDH). I prayed to get to my Mechanic. Who instructed me to take car back ASAP. He stated this is a dealer issue. I should not drive this car anyone due to getting stuck. I will not take the risk of having my granddaughter and getting stranded. Take this damn car.

Renegade Sport D/K

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,034 miles

I took the jeep renegade back for the 3000 mile oil change and to have the brakes checked because they make a grinding noise. The oil was changed but they put 3400 something on the paper when it was only 3034. The brakes still make a noise .

I drove the jeep home and on the way I noticed that the speedometer was on kilometers instead of miles. I don't know why this was changed but I went into the settings to try to fix it and no matter what I did it would not change.

I really think there is something wrong with the electrical system because of all the other problems I listed before.

Please I need help and advice

I have had the jeep back from the RPM light three times, the dash lights go off and on all the time. sometimes they stay off her as much as a half hour, the radio goes off and on, the oil pressure light comes on in the oil pressure goes up over halfway, airbag light came on just last week and the power steering light came on as well saying check power steering. I have only had this jeep since September 2015 and I am really upset with the way it has been running and it never seems that everything is straightened out I really think it's either a computer problem or electronic problem

While driving a warning message showed on my screen which at 60 miles and hour I could not read it. Something about ...needs service... my phone system was not working properly and could not call out or send messages. My 911 call light was also no longer working. Took to dealer and they said there was nothing wrong and it had started working again. This was not even one week of driving off lot. March 12th was purchase date. Two more times now car in shop for electrical will report those separately as the site says.

I first took my Jeep Renegade back to the dealer for the RPM light, they fixed it or I thought they did. The 2nd time it came on and mother light came on about the 4 wheel drive, so it took it back again and they said they did not find anything wrong. I have started noticing that the. Brakes squeak every time I back out of my driveway and the brakes also make a grinding noise. The RPM light comes on every time I drive it more than 15 miles and stays on for awhile even after I shut off the engine.

Today I went out to go out and pushed the button to unlock the doors but it would not unlock the lights would not flash like they usually do, nothing worked. I called the dealer and they are having there towing company bring it in and when he got it open and put the key in the ignition nothing worked worked and he couldn't even get the key back out.

It says that you get 21 miles to the gallon of gas and so far I've only gotten 12 at the most.

I am beginning to think I have a lemon and I think they knew this.

Update from May 18, 2016: The dealer said my jeep was fixed and that the computer needed to be upgraded so it ran ok coming home but every time I put it in park the emergency brake come on so I called and they tell me this is an emergency feature that was in the upgrade. I hate it. How many people put their emergency brake on every time they put their car in park. They never really answered my question as to how the whole system went dead but said that something may have been left on but I know that is not the case

2 months old. Car locks won't work. Key fob makes car beep/light flash making you think they lock but don't. 2 months of owning car. Less than 2k miles now. Dealer claims they don't know how to & they have Contact Chrysler. This kind of problem shouldn't happen in this young a car. Don't know what to do!

Radio switches channels all on it own like crazy. Goes into scan and keeps going. Bluetooth also switches back and forth between radio and handset! Dealer (Garden City Jeep ... Bunch of, INCOMPETENT CLOWNS!) has had the car back 6 times in 2 months. They have it an average of 7-8 days per visit, so since January, THEY have had it more than we have!!!

Renegade Latitude 2.4L

My Renegade has an electrical problem! The jeep has been back at the dealership at least ones a month and the entire month of August. The problems range from lights, radio, windows. Sometimes it even tells me stuff the dealer or the owners manual does not even say it can do like tell me I'm on black ice and it 75 degrees or telling me that the key fob is not in the car as I'm driving on the highway for an hour! Windows roll up and down at will, radio mute it self or just blacks out. Locks say that they are locked and are not locked. Radio in different language. vanity lights work when ready. Lights work when ready inside the car and outside the car!

So now, 1 week after my brake pad failure in this car, needing replacement, a warning light went on telling me "failure/service passive entry system." Took it right over and I was told "Oh, you really have a problem." Wonderful. Car still was starting but they were too nervous to let me drive it out suspecting it would fail to start soon and after 1 quick hour was saddled with yet another rental car. They say it's a computer failure to sense the key fob and they need to call Chrysler to see if they have any suggestions. May need a new module. May need to come from Italy. I'm stunned that this is all happening at 8000 miles. I'm done already... trading it in.

Renegade Lattitude 1.4L Turbo

  • Manual transmission

I took delivery on my Renegade in August of 2015. From the very start there were problems with the door locks. Sometimes all of the locks will open when exiting the vehicle and sometimes not. When I am outside of the vehicle, and push the key fob to enter, sometimes all of the doors will open and sometimes only the drivers side door opens. The door locks do not automatically engage when I am driving. When I enter the car and close the door and push the automatic lock button, the locks do not engage. I have had my car back to the dealer at least 3 times for this and there is never a solution. HELP!

The electrical system in my Jeep Renegade 2015 has not worked properly since I drove it off the lot brand new on May 30, 2015. Headlights go on and off intermittently, radio goes on and off, same with uconnect. Car has been in for service 7 times. Radio replaced twice. I took it to two different Jeep Service Centers- neither could fix it. Car was leased from Storm Motors in Southampton and has less than 2200 miles on it. Meanwhile Im paying garage fees, insurance, and a monthly lease on a car that does not work properly. Plus taking time off from work to continually bring the car in for service, plus call and email and research online trying to get my car to work properly! Chrysler has been no help in resolving the problem. Any one out there with a similar problem who knows of a fix?
