My 2006 Jeep Wrangler unlimited rubicon spits gasoline out of the fill spout at every fill up unless manually shut-off before tank is full.

When filling Jeep Wrangler, the automatic fuel shutoff feature of pump does not work, and gas sprays out briefly before shutting off, spilling on vehicle, operator, and ground. I have had tank replaced by dealer at 50,000 miles, cost of $350 to me. I understand that you have closed the investigation into this, and if so, you are truly incompetent idiots (I'm sorry, but come on). This is a defective product with safety and environmental negative impact! even though I have replaced my tank at some personal expense, I believe that it is with the same product, and I fully expect it to fail again in the future. Wouldn't you expect a modern vehicle, even a "simple" one to be able to fill without getting gas on yourself, the vehicle, and the ground?!!! please consider re-opening the case; the idea that the internet created this problem is ridiculous.

Gas spews out of the filler tube just before the tank reaches full and the pump shuts off. This problem did not appear until I owned the vehicle for over a year and now happens at every fill up.

Fuel spills out each time I fill my tank. Fuel pump kicks off as designed, but is followed by 2-3 cups of gas spilling out with force that covers the pump handle, side of vehicle, ground under vehicle, and anyone standing too close.

Nothing leading up to it. It happens every time I fill the gas tank. It overflows all over the ground. It has happened since I bought my Jeep brand new in 2006. I have done nothing to fix it except never actually fill it all the way I usually stop about a gallon or two short. But sometimes don't let go of the pump in time and it still overflows.

2006 rubicon with 40K miles. Fuel sprays out from the gasoline fill tube and runs down the outside of the vehicle onto the pavement every time the vehicle is refueled. The dealership says the fuel tank must be replaced to correct the issue. It doesn't make sense to pay for a new fuel tank with the same defect. This is apparently a widespread issue and should be recalled.

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler unlimited, and almost every time I fill up the gas tank it overflows, often spraying a significant amount of fuel before the pump shuts off. This did not happen when it was new, but has been happening off and on, getting progressively worse, for the past 3 years. I believe this presents both a fire hazard and an environmental hazard, and I know that many other Wrangler owners have observed the same problem.

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler unlimited 2 door that every time I fill the gas tank up at the pump it releases a substanitial amount of gasoline through the inlet as it is turning the pump off. This occurs every time I fill my tank and is very dangerous seeing as I get fuel on my skin and then have to get in the vehicle w/ my 4year old daughter. I am not sure what to do to correct the failure.
