Hard top leaks on drivers side at top of door. Keep the grommets out of the floor so it drains out.

Freedom top assembly started leaking late spring in 2008 at the seal intersecting the two front seat tops over the dash. Stuffed a rag in it to stop. Dealer would not cover under basic warranty. Rear window leaks on right side (facing car at rear), and tends to pond by subwoofer. Subwoofer bracket has rusted due to this. Stuffed a rag in corner to capture most water. Leak is more intermittent.

Understand many Wrangler owners put up with this condition. There is a lack of any aftermarket parts/weatherstripping to correct these issues. Am aware that most convertibles/removable hardtops will leak over time- my Ford Bronco did. But to have it fail so quickly tells me the engineering of the weatherstripping wasn't well though out.

So when I first bought my Jeep and was still enjoying it, I decided to purchase the Soft Top as a fun addition for the Summer. (ha ha ha jokes on me). I put the top together with my father got it on the Jeep it looked great!!! ... 2 days later I get in the car to go run errands and it was raining I get in the truck, and feel excessive dripping. I look up and back and there's a tear in the top between the driver and rear passenger door. I put a small peice of Duct Tape on it. and went to the Dealer. One of the guys come out looks at it and says " Oh, we can't cover that since it's not in the seem." the rip was withing a cenimeter of the seem and the only options, I was told I had was to buy a whole new top for another $1600ish or find and Car Apholsterer and see if they could fix it. So I found someone who could repair it and it cost me $200 and the man who fixed it was also taken back by the fact that Jeep would not honor a replacement. He also noticed that the top for these Jeep are not cut correctly nor made with the same durability as they were in past years. And I have to fix something on the soft top every year since the peices don't hold together hooks and screws have popped off. I'm a very mindful person when it come to taking care of things, so it's not like I'm beating the crap out of my Jeep.

So this in the end was a lose for me.
