The contact owns a 2009 Jeep Wrangler. While driving approximately 63 mph, the hood latch detached and caused the safety latch to open. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road, used a cargo strap to secure the hood, and drove home. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 32,000.
2009 Jeep Wrangler. Consumer states problem with hood latches the consumer stated while driving 70 mph, an 18-wheeler passed in the opposite direction going approximately the same speed, when suddenly the front end of the vehicle began to shake violently. When it happened again, he then noticed the hood violently bouncing up and down. The consumer found a customer satisfaction notification on the internet regarding the hood latch.
