Clock spring in steering column has failed. Air bag warning light is on, horn does not work, cruise control does not work, traction control light is on. I drive in very dusty conditions while delivering us mail, records show a recall was issued for this Jeep and this problem. Records also indicate that the recall work was completed. But I have the exact same problem that the recall was supposed to fix" what can I do"

My airbag light came on and my cruise control stopped working. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they stated it would be $500 to fix because it is not a recalled item. I have been waiting patiently for the recall because many other Jeep Wrangler owners are having the same issues. My vehicle was stationary. One day I simply went to start the Jeep and the light came on. I was headed to work and always use my cruise control when I am on the highway, but it would not work.

As with hundreds of other left hand steer Jeep owners, our airbag light is on, horn does not work, and cruise control is inoperative. NHTSA and Jeep have deemed it okay to repair these problems on the right hand steer which is a very small percent of all Jeep. Get on it, start the recall, it is unsafe, and why should we have to pay the price when Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler know this is an issue. I have been trying to get this fixed and talking to other 2009 owners since March of 2010. Let's go.

On a 2009 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) dashboard, the airbag warning light flashes on every other minute with a chime, an indication that there is something malfunctioning or interfering with the vehicle's airbags. The vehicle also no longer has functioning speed control. This has been a recurring issue and concern for many 2007-2012 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) owners, including myself, and has been shown time and time again to be caused by a faulty clockspring within the vehicle's steering wheel. The faulty clockspring is the a safely concern due to a potential airbag failure in the 2009 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) during an accident.

While operating my 2009 Jeep Wrangler first my cruise control failed and now will not function, then my air bag light came on. Now the air bag light keeps going on and off with a chime. Looked it up online only to find I'm not the only one with this issue, it seems very frequent and to have recalled several other keeps with the same problem, Chrysler needs to properly address the issue and recall all the keeps with this problem.

The contact owns a 2009 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 72 mph, the accelerator pedal was released however, the vehicle would not decelerate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,900.

While crossing 2 lanes of on coming traffic in the middle of the day the ABS, esp and traction control lights came on and would not let me push the gas along with the right front brake "locking up". because of the traction control coming on when I accelerate from a stop, even slowly, the engine responds as if I was slipping and losing traction, sputtering power and then all of a sudden it just stops. Now this has happened a few times within the last couple of days which is very scary considering there is absolutely no warning and can happen at any speed while driving. I have read some other forums on this issue and it seems to be pretty common with the make, model and year of this vehicle. This should not be taken lightly and should be fixed by Chrysler as it is a manufacturing defect.
