I received a safety recall notice N28 NHTSA 13V-234 for transmission oil cooler tube back in August 2013. Chrysler still does not have parts to make the repair. Notice says it is a fire hazard and loss of transmission fluid would cause severe damage to the transmission. I am unhappy that we have to drive the vehicle with a risk of fire. I have called my dealer 6 times. They say they will order the part but it never arrives.

I received a letter that there was a recall on the transmission oil cooler tube (safety recall N28/ NHTSA 13V-234). I took my vehicle in Oct 30, 2013 and was told the parts were ordered and I would be notified when parts arrive. 2 months later I was still not notified of the parts arriving. I called the dealership and was told there was a 2 year waiting period for the part. I was told it was supposedly on order already and to see if it had come in. They said it was never ordered and would call me right back. It has been nearly 3 weeks and I have received no call back. On my recall letter it stated that if a dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect in a reasonable time, that I may file a written complaint. That is what I am here to do.

Safety recall N28/NHTSA 13V-234 notification code N28 notice received approx. 4 months ago. Went to the dealership this am 2/5/2014 to have the repair done. Dealer said that they only get one part per month so they put me on a wait list. Apparently there are 15 ahead of me at jones Ford/Chrysler in wickenburg AZ. So it looks like a year plus wait. Can't be much of a part regarding the issue so am at a loss at the delay. The failure however can result in a incident. Some prodding to get parts out to the dealers may be in order.

I received a recall notice N28 transmission oil cooler tube from Chrysler. I reached out to the dealership to schedule the work on the recall and was told they didn't have the parts and were receiving 1 part every 2 weeks and they had 400 people on a waiting list. I called another dealer and was told a similar story and at best case would be 6 months before they could have a part for me. The recall mentions potential for a transmission issue which could result in increased risk for a crash. I called Chrysler as well and all they could tell me was sorry they don't have enough parts. So I am supposed to drive an unsafe vehicle and hope that nothing goes wrong in the 6 months before they maybe have a part" this is unreal that a notice is sent out warning of increased risk and then I am told by Chrysler they cant do anything and that they are sorry. Regardless of why, the fact is there are hundreds of unsafe vehicles out there that can not be fixed and notices are being sent out telling the consumer to take them in and get them fixed? why send the recall notice if you cant fix the problem? what is being done to protect me as a consumer with a vehicle that the manufacturer has told me could be unsafe and now has a higher potential risk for a crash and their only answer is "sorry""

Safety recall N28/NHTSA 13V-234 transmission oil cooler tube after having appointment rescheduled twice, dealership stated that they are only receiving parts for this recall once every 15 days. This is a safety recall complaint N28/NHTSA 13V-234 transmission oil cooler tube. First notice received in 6/2013, parts to fix not available at the time. Second notice received 1/2014 indicating parts available and to contact dealership "right away to schedule service appointment." Contact was made with dealership and they indicated there is a 4 month waiting list because they are only provided one set of parts per week needed for this recall, which means, only 4 Jeep a month are receiving the repairs for a 2 hour fix. This is absolutely ridiculous. Dealerships should be provided these parts as soon as a customer contacts them on this safety recall. I have been put on the "list" and will be called when I move to the top. A 4 month waiting list means only 16 Jeep will have this safety recall taken care of before I am scheduled. Solution: Dealerships need to have these parts available to them as customers call to schedule an appointment. They should not be rationed nor should a complaint be filed against the dealer. The complaint is with Chrysler group for not being able to supply parts for a safety recall that could potentially present a life threatening situation if the defect is not taken care of.
