Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

problem #2

Aug 132006

Amanti 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,206 miles

The drivers seat goes forward by itself it cannot be stopped by control switches. This has happened several times, twice while the car was being driven, once injuries were inflicted to the driver, the car has been taken in for repairs 3 times the service dept. At the dealership kept the car 20+ days for this problem the second time it was taken in, we picked it up on Friday and the last incident happened on the following Sunday evening.

Amanti 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,800 miles
Vehicle seat moved forward by it's self without pushing any button pushing driver's knees into dash and abdomen into the steering wheel, slightly injuring her knees. The seat could not be stopped nor could it be moved back to the rear. The vehicle is a new Kia Amanti sedan and was hauled back to the dealer where it has been for 18 days and still not repaired.
