I had the same problem of extreme humidity inside the car and on the windows, and also my AC vents were blowing out a LOT of moisture/steam too. I know this can happen on humid days, but had gotten really bad. I even had water blowing out of my defrost vents and dripping on my feet from the bottom vents. (and sounded like gurgling water in the dash) My windows were so fogged it was a complete white out. NOT cool while driving.

Taken in to Kia dealer, the AC drain hose under the car was clogged. They said this is NOT covered under warranty, is considered a maintenance issue. You have to lift the car/get under it to clean this, so I'm not sure how that's not covered. But, they blew out the AC drain house and all was back to normal.

Now I know. And once a year while it's up on the rack for oil change or whatever, I'm going to have that hose cleaned.

I have had this occur twice after heavy rains. Once I put the heater on, the windows fog up. The only way to solve it seems to be to run it at maximum heat and defrost in the driveway with the windows open until all the water is out of the system. the first time it happened I turned the blower to maximum and water sprayed out of it.

It is a safety concern and I am not sure where to report it because when driving if it occurs I cant see a thing.

Any help is appreciated.

extreme humidity on windows

Well, I understand some fog, but when I have to scrape the inside of the windshield, and wait for the defrost to clear it up, is stupid. I had to take it to the dealership for a recall, and questioned it. I was told that there was no leakage and it was due to the excess moisture I bring in the car. ???? I have never had a car do this before. I had a 2013 Kia Soul, that produced a little fog, but nothing like this. I saw on one of the complaints that it could be a heater issue.

When the windows fog up I turn the vent option to defrost, and the heat setting to high (sometimes I'll open the window half way). The passenger front window almost instantly defrosts but the drivers window takes forever. This problem also can happen while driving. When I took the car for its 6 month "checkup" I reported the problem. I was told that the outside window vent and a tube can get covered with debris and needs to be kept cleared off. He said these areas were clear and not clogged, that was it!!! I believe this problem is extremely dangerous. I have no confidence or trust in this Ron Tonkin, Kia Dealership (located in Gladstone, Oregon).

Update from Dec 1, 2015: A friend recently advised me that the problem might be with the heater core.

This is a serious problem for visibility, which was zero for me, the entire cabin windows were fogged up so badly and so quickly, ( less than ten sec.and all visibility ceased, perhaps evaporator temp sensor and ambient temp sensor are solutions ). You panic so much you cannot think what to do but slam the brakes on, I really came close to a horrifying crash, slamming on the brakes with the car moving was terrifying. This may have resulted in someones death somewhere but thank God it was not me. This needs to be fixed permanently so this can never ever happen. It is SERIOUSLY A KILLER !
