I parked my LR4 in my driveway, which is on an incline. I shifted the transmission to what I believed was park, but apparently the shifter did not end up all the way in the park position. I shut off the engine using the push-button switch, opened the door and got out of the car. The car immediately began rolling toward me. The door hit me on the way down the driveway, and I was fortunately able to jump clear of the open door into the stairway. The car continued rolling down hill, and the door, still open, hit the retaining wall, folding it back over its hinges. The car continued rolling down my driveway, into busy traffic"a car nearly hit it"and across the street, where it T-boned a Honda parallel parked across the street. I believe that the car and/or its BTSI system is defective because it allows you to shut off the car when it is not in park without providing an adequate warning or an interlock. I believe that it poses a danger in this condition. I have repeatedly tried to contact Land Rover by phone and email for two weeks now, without success.
