The contact owns a 2007 Lexus ES350. While the vehicle was stationary and driving various speeds, the passenger side air bag indicator illuminated. The passenger side air bag indicator remained illuminated ever since the vehicle was purchased. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16V340000 (air bags) and contacted the dealer (Lexus of ownings mill, Maryland) where it was diagnosed that the failure was an electronic issue and the contact would be responsible for the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 60,000.

My airbag recall came to me today 7/18/2017 - I found out about this recall from facebook back in Sept. 2016 - I called Lexus was informed to drive the car over - I signed a paper stating I was not allowed to drive my car and it must sit in my garage for as long as there is no part to replace it with - they gave me a loaner car but after 10 months later and my car dead - the part came in - it was like pulling teeth to get them to even look at the car and did not want to even put in a new battery - after complaining and working with the home office they did a complete once over and a new battery - my car is working now - but - Lexus should have done something for their customers - lawyers all over the place want to help you get your money back - Lexus didn't even want to hear about any issues you had - complaints etc..... you would think they would want to assist you with more items to replace on your car - 10 months of waiting"????" crazy !!!!!!

The dealer (herb chambers Lexus, 25 providence hwy, sharon, MA, 02067) stated that the parts were unavailable for repair and may take months. The manufacturer was also contacted and confirmed that parts were unavailable for the repair. "takata recall". I bought this car new in July 2007 and this airbag problem has been identified several years ago. I received an interim recall no. NHTSA 16V-340 which recommended not riding in the front passemger seat. How practical is this? if these cars are dangerous then give us a loaner until Lexus can get the cars fixed.

Takata recall--- help--- I am driving around with my almost 80 year old wife in the front seat of our Lexus..... manufactures says inflators could fail and kill her. She refuses to ride in the back seat like a child. Local car dealer says parts still not available-- I really am wondering when this bomb will go off? this has been on recall from May 23, 2016. ---- I am going to hold some one at NHTSA responsible if this bomb explodes.... please help us / we can not just not use the front seat of this car. My 2007 Lexus ES 350 is under recall for a faulty takata passenger air bag. I have been unable to get a replacement date for this air bag from my Toyota dealer; I.e., Lexus of wayzata, 16100 wayzata blvd., wayzata, mn 55391, (952) 475-6111. I understand that having an older model vehicle puts my passenger at great risk to injury due to the deterioration of the propellant. The suggested remedy of not using the front passenger seat seems hardly reasonable for an unknown length of time. I should at least be given a replacement date or a replacement vehicle.
