My vehicle dashboard is melting and i have tried to contact the dealer and they have told me that the recall has been expired on my vehicles and for me it is becoming a safety issue because whenever sun reflects on the dashboard and because its melting it makes a glare on my windshield and it effects on my visibility while driving the car.

Dear Sir/Madam, Our Lexus ES350 2008 has front panel melting and cracking. The melting plastic could emit hazardous fumes with health risk to driver and passengers. This melting panel looks awful, it dramatically decreases value of the car. We found this ZLZ program online below. But unfortunately it expired. We never received the ZLZ notice even though Lexus had our contact info (This is based on the fact that they sent us numerous letters on the air bag recalls.) https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10145764-9999.pdf We called Lexus, they admit it was due to defective material but unwilling to do anything for us. Apparently they treat recalls very seriously but try to do minimum for this defective plastic panel issue. All Lexus owners with this defective material issue should get full repair by manufacturer without limitation. Driving to work (I'm a registered nurse), the car (on the highway) just started to slow down. It was a blessing that I was coming up on a rest stop. By the time I was able to get over to the exit lane, the steering wheel froze and the brakes stopped working. Pressing as hard as I possibly could, I was able to pull to the side when smoke started coming from under the hood. There was no warning at all that there was trouble with the engine prior to this happening. That same week, my mechanic had 3 other Lexus with blown engines and no pre-warning.

I recently just found out that my dashboard melt, and sticky. If I'm driving in the sun, the reflection of the sun caused the blindspot that I could not see. Also, the stickiness is causing the smell and it's not healthy.

Trunk release button that allows trunk to be opened melted. Not sure what caused the rubber button to melt and render the release of the trunk inoperable. Car was never subjected to chemicals or undue heat. Something caused the button to melt after a period of time. Possible fire hazard if not replaced? the car is kept year round in New Jersey and is subject to seasonal changes but not in a year round hot climate such as the southern states. The service manager refused to help with the replacement cost. The mechanic there who looked at it said he sees it all the time.

The top of the dash is sticky, almost like it's melting, causing a shiny glare to reflect off the bash and windshield making it difficult to see, especially in direct sunlight. Ive owned the car since 2010 and it's steadily worsened overtime. It became an immediate safety concern back in March as the weather became warmer.

Melting dash board recall. Lexus of mobile is stating I never filed a claim to have my melting dash board recall corrected. This is false. I was there and had photo's taken. I called bi-monthly to find out when the new dash boards would be in. Never was I told they lost my photo's or did not have a claim on file. In addition I was there a few months ago to have the air bags fixed. At which time they saw the state of the dash board. They even created more damage to it but was told not to worry as it would be taken care of when the new dash board was installed. The glare for the dashboard is a safety hazard and must be corrected and should be at no cost to me. Since this is a manufacturing defect.

I purchased the Lexus 3/2016 and I have been having medical problems from the mold/mildew and toxic aluminum hydroxide that was sprayed on the HVAC by Lexus to kill the mold issue. I have been going to the doctor since 7/2016 for illness that started out with tightening of the throat and tongue, frequent urination and very yellow, difficulty breathing, high blood pressure 130/80 before I purchased car my blood pressure was 120/60, blurred vision, metallic taste on my tongue and burning sensation on my tongue that doesn't go away, dizziness. I have had the car for less than a year and I stopped using the air because it is a safety issue and my health is at stake. I have kids who ride in the car from 5years of age to 12 years and there health is affect too. The mold produces a gas of mycotoxins which can be travel to major organs lung, liver, and brain. These cars need to be recalled and Lexus of austin in austin, Texas refuses to do anything about my complaints. Don't let someone die before this get taken serious. There are many reports of Lexus/Toyota HVAC mold issue. Its not just the mold that is the problem it is the gas (mycotoxins) you are made to drink everytime you are behind the wheel. I didn't buy this car to have my health and my family health to be affected. Lexus of austin took my money, and took my health too. Health ;lel.E

Melting dashboard I have been on the list for my vehicle's defective dashboard recall since 9/2015. I also completed the in store inspection required by the dealership 10/2016. Year to date, the dashboard has not been replaced. Is Lexus still honoring this recall?

I purchased my Lexus 2008 ES 350 on March 2016 from Lexus of austin.the 2008 Lexus ES 350 HVAC system is blowing moldy, mildew, and aluminum hydroxide smells into the car. The entire dashboard is melting and has a gooey, sticky substance all over the dashboard. The sticky substance is all over my windshield and cannot come off due to the location of the gooey substance. It is causing a glare. I have taken the car to the Lexus dealership in jacksonville, fl and they acknowledge that it needs to be replaced (we have pictures). We have also directly contacted Lexus and they state they will not cover replacement because our VIN number is outside of the VIN numbers their engineers selected, nor did they offer other options to assist with replacement of the dashboard.
