Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2009 Lexus ES350. The contact stated that when driving approximately 50-55 mph with the headlights in activation, the headlights would fail sporadically. The contact tried pushing on the lever for the high beams and but the high beam headlights were also unresponsive. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis. After diagnosis they advised the contact that the light bulbs failed and needed to be replaced. The headlight bulbs were replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileages were approximately 19,700.

He mentioned that the failure was a safety hazard because the defect made it impossible for him to see more than 100 ft down the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised the contact that they were unable to do anything because the lights were designed that way. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The failure and current mileages were 11,000.
