really awful
brakes problem
This is the 3rd time my brakes failed after having been assured once again my car was fixed. Thankfully this time no one was in front of me, just going down a hill a little fast, hit the brakes... none. Wrecker picked up the car and carried to dealer. They said the problem was the brake shims and they replaced them. Asked for their loaner car back when I expressed I didn't want to drive it anymore. So after spending 58,000 dollars for a car, I can't even drive since I feel it is now a safety issue(actually it has always been a safety issue) but I refuse to get myself killed or someone else by driving this vehicle. They so graciously offered to let me trade it in for an additional 14,000.00. I don't think so. I just at this point want my money back since they don't seem to want to stand behind their products. Lexus said they are not gonna do anything since the mechanics cant "duplicate" the problem , so here I am after spending that much money and no car to drive .
I can't be the only one who has experienced this problem. They said they had never heard of this happening on the GX 470 so its my problem..

2nd time brakes failed after they were supposed to be fixed. Back to dealer. Almost rear ended another vehicle who stopped in front of me. Pedal all the way to floor, nothing. This time they said they found the problem, it was the master and slave cylinders which they replaced and assured me it was fixed this time. This was in November 2006.

After the 30,000 mile service my brakes failed causing me almost to rear end a car and had someone been coming in the other way I would have hit them. Went back to dealer and they thought it was just a air bubble, checked it and assured me it was ok and fixed it.
