We had the passenger airbag replaced as part of a recall. This work was performed by a certified Lexus dealership. When we got the car back after the repair, the passenger airbag light showed 'off' even with a passenger in the seat. This airbag light and sensor had always worked correctly prior to the airbag replacement by Lexus. There are multiple complaints of the airbag wiring harness being too short and the replacement airbag causing this same issue for many other Lexus owners. When we brought the car back to Lexus, they said we would need to purchase a new ECU sensor for thousands of dollars and that this issue was not part of the recall and not caused by the repair. Again, this issue arose due to the replacement of the airbag which was performed by Lexus and a required recall.

The cover over the front passenger Is detached and hanging open. This happened some time following a recall repair. I am concerned that something Is wrong. Both front wheel ball joints failed and I was told that this was a dangerous situation. I had them replaced as I was traveling and not able to go to a Lexus dealer.

When the passenger side airbag was replaced by Lexus the light for the seat airbag appeared. The dealer and Lexus refuse to fix this unless we pay $3600. To but a new seat. They claim this was not related to the recall but I know its not true because the light did not appear until they fixed the dashboard airbag.we cannot have a passenger on the car and cannot sell the car in its current condition

Takata recall. I bought my car only two years ago after my first Lexus lasted me upwards of 350,000 miles. Keeping this in mind I found my 2007 IS250. I was aware after buying the car (but 2 days outside of my dealership warranty *fishy*) about the passenger air bag recall. The dashboard situation Is harsh. There Is a very chemical smell coming from my dashboard, it feels and peels off like the foam under it. It gets ripped and torn to shreds from very little friction. I have read that some people became very congested and ill from this smell. It Is very pungent. Now for my engine, this Is a big one. As I was driving, my car starts to make a loud but hallow clunking noise. For a long time I thought it was my brakes, so when I got them changed it went away, for a little. Now today as I was driving my car (which Is an automatic) completely stalled in head on traffic. Lucky me, ive driven many manual cars so I knew what to do. When I turned my car back on, it held idle at 4000 RPM. While going 20 mph it holds at 5-6000 RPM. As well as my miles per gallon/tank drop dramatically. While the car Is in idle in my driveway, it shakes like a freezing baby throwing a temper tantrum.

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Is 350. While driving 35 mph, the air bag indicator illuminated without warning. Sewell Lexus in fort worth, Texas requested that the vehicle be brought in for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic as having squib circuit failure inside of the air bag, which caused the SRS indicator to illuminate under code: B1861. The independent mechanic stated that in the event of a crash, the squib circuit failure could potentially disable the air bags. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 141,896.

My airbag light is on. I did some research online and Lexus had issued a tsb for the airbag light for 2006-2007 (some 2008) Lexus is models. This tsb was only covering 5 years or 70K miles. I'm currently at 90K miles and this airbag light is on. Apparently the airbag harness the cars were fitted with were too short, and causes a fault in the system when one of the connectors related to the airbag system gets loosened up. This disables the entire airbag system from what I have read. This seems like an extremely unsafe manufacturing fault, and should have been a recall as opposed to a tsb limited to a warranty period.

I bought my car used in 2015 and about 1,000 miles after driving it off the lot the airbag light came on. I took it to the local Lexus dealership and they diagnosed it as the driver's knee airbag and said the entire airbag wire harness needed to be replaced and quoted me $3,500. I looked up the issue and found that Lexus had previously issued a tsib on it (L-sb-0167-08). I also read many owners around that time were able to get it fixed under warranty (72mo or 70K miles). Unfortunately that expired for me 2 years before I even bought the car. I'm very frustrated that they know this is an issue, that it's related to airbag safety and they are still asking me to pay thousands. It's been two years and the light is still on. Ps: the dealership told me several times that I wasn't affected by the taketa recall but I later got the recall notice.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Is 350. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16V340000 (air bags) and stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair for over two years. The dealer (servco Lexus honolulu, 650 kapiolani blvd, honolulu, hi 96813, (808) 545-3987) did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the contact's vehicle would receive the recall repair. In addition, the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 09V020000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact was not experiencing a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

There are 2 recalls that I have been told by servco Lexus oahu have to be done at a dealership. The problem is I live on the big island of Hawaii and there is not a dealership on this island so I was told I have to pay for the shipping of my vehicle to the the dealership on the other islands, either maui, or oahu. I have argued with them saying it is there responcibility to fix the car and I shouldn't have to pay anything for them fix their mess. I was told by an assistant manager at servco Lexus oahu, that if I read my owners manual I would have known this.do you know of anyone who has read their owners manual front to back before they bought a car, new or used, what if someone buys a used car and there is not a manual in the car?he also told me that all automanufacturers state that in there mauals so I read my Chevy truck and my corvette manual and it says "Chevrolet will repair all factory recalls within 30 days and if they cannot they will find a repair shop to do the work and worse case scenario they will send parts to the customer." I read the manual from Lexus but couldn't find anything saying I am responsible for shipping costs for them to fix their mess, it might be in there but I couldn't find it. Anyways these recall are from 2010 and haven't been fixed, there is a recall on the interior door panels and dashboard I have been waiting on for 15 months, I was told that it should take 8-12 mo., still waiting, I can't even sell the car without taking at least a$2000 loss, if L would have known it was going to take this long and that I was going to get such a hassle and disrespect from the company of Lexus I would of never bought this from my friend in the first place.this is not how the american automanufacturers do business, I will never buy a Japanese car ever again. If they can't conduct business like the big boys do then they shouldn't do any business.

Takata recall it has been since May 2016 that Lexus knew that our airbag(s) had been recalled. We were notified with an update on June 9, 2016 that they would fix this but did not have a remedy yet. This was over 6 months ago and we are still unable to have passengers ride in the front seat of our car. This Is extremely disappointing and it Is not acceptable for a remedy to take so long to occur- even if the takata recall affected many vehicles.
