Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Lexus Is 350. Upon attempting to pull into a parking space, the steering wheel locked. The contact was unable to get the steering wheel to unlock. The vehicle was turned off and would not restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for further inspection and diagnosis. The contact also received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16V340000 (air bags). The dealer was unable to determine when the parts would become available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was not available. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

While driving on a straight line, most of the time when trying to make a normal correction it would feel like the steering wheel Is caught on a magnet and I needed to tug the steering loose. This causes me to loose control of the car for few seconds to correct the steering.
