Steering is hard. The local Sun Devil garage told me it needed one new pump, they replaced. Didn't work, Checked it again, didn't work. Took it to the Lincoln dealer garage for a checkup and their repair estimate came to a total of $2,960. It needs a rack or valve of sorts and there apparently is only one available in the whole country, and that without any warranty. If this replacement didn't work, a retesting would be needed and then there would be a rack - steering gear replaced. A 4-wheel alignment would also be needed. So there is an old car, not worth much apparently, but otherwise in good condition, with steering problems. The mechanic told me I could drive it but it would get progressively worse until it would stop.
