5th time this has happened since buying the car app. 6 weeks ago. Driving along with 1/2 of gas when suddenly the gas gauge dropped to 1/8 tank. About 2 miles later it dropped to empty and began beeping indicating I was out of gas. Continued driving for another hour and 10 minutes and gauge never moved off empty. Car is now parked, I will see what it does next time I start it.
Update from Jun 1, 2016: Gas gauge finally stopped working altogether, dealer decided a faulty sender in the tank and replaced it. Works fine now.
