Mark LT 5.4L - 3v Sohc
- Automatic transmission
- 66,000 miles
The mechanic at the Ford dealership in Jennings, LA told me my plugs would have to be changed in order to fix a problem with the engine. He also informed me that this particular model engine was at risk of spark plugs breaking in the engine and Ford will not cover this problem even though it is a known engineering problem.(I verified this with another Ford dealership.) Sure enough 5 spark plugs broke in the block. They were able to remove 4 with a special tool. I was informed the total cost of the job would be $2015.00 because the head had to be pulled on my engine. You can believe I'm very angry about this and I am looking to find out if there are any class action law suits for this type of problems that Ford is refusing to acknowledge and fix. Ford should be liable for this. My truck only had 66,000 miles on it and has been serviced by a Lincoln dealership since it was new. This is just flat out wrong!!

Mark Mark Lt 5.7L
I recently brought my Lincoln Mark Lt, which is just a higher end F150, to my mechanic to have the spark plugs changed for routine tuneup. Well, he said they were stuck in there and he refuses to change them cuz they will most likely crack or break and he didn't want the responsibility if the head had to be taken off. He told me to take it to dealer...well I took it to the dealer and they said those trucks have issues with getting the spark plugs out and its going to cost an extra 100 bucks an hr if each plug breaks. So, 4 came out fine after spraying all and letting them sit, and 4 broke. Well the bill came out to 600 bucks. Are you SERIOUS?? Why should we have to pay the price for faulty plugs or faulty threading in the head or whatever the deal is???? If this is a problem with several vehicles, shouldn't there be a recall?? Hell, the air bags were recalled. Just because you cant get hurt from the spark plugs warrants the consumer to pay for THEIR mistake in the manufacturing dept? BULLSH*T. Where and who can I talk to about this and try and get my money back?? anyone??? I might opt to call channel 12 or consumer reports!! What a rip off
