Driving perhaps 30 miles per hour I suddenly heard the car accelerate and it started to go faster. I hit the brakes and that did not slow down the car. I was in heavy traffic and quickly went into a side street turning sharply and narrowly missing parked cars but struck two steel poles and than a parked truck. It was a horrible experience!

The contact owns a 2006 Lincoln Town car. While driving between 10-15 mph, the brake pedal extended to the floor when it was depressed. The vehicle failed to slow down and the driver veered off the road onto a grassy area and sidewalk to avoid crashing into other vehicles. Immediately, the vehicle came to a complete stop. There were no injuries or damages. The failure recurred within 500 feet from the previous failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but they could not duplicate the failures. The failure still persists. The failure mileage was 23,740 and current mileage was 23,782.

I have a 2006 Lincoln Town car. It has a driver adjustment on the height of the brake pedal. Even with it at the top, when you apply the brakes, the accelerator is so close that you can push it also. This is very dangerous. Several times now, I have avoided an accident only because an oncoming driver missed me. Coming up to a stop sign, I've applied the brakes only to have the car jump forward into traffic.
