Congrats Mazda car of the year once again Mazda CX-5 2018. THINK TWICE before you buy this car because when you will go for a test drive probably the best driving experience you will get out of a SUV and that is why I bought it. I have 2014 CX-5 gt 2,5 liter I have taken my car to the dealer more times than the car I had for 15 years, Acura 1.6 1998. This Mazda really makes me miss it. Now no more warranty and always at my mechanic. My mechanic loves this car and tells me not to sell it. Which by the way owns a Honda. But when I change parts on this car I ask him if he changed the same parts on his Honda, and his answer is always "no".

I CHANGED both mirrors lots of vibration at 70km CHANGED front driver side shock CHANGED steering wheel faded out from black to grey CHANGED Bluetooth module, phone would not connect CHANGED driver side booth leaking grease and now need to CHANGE ignition coil at 68 000km. OH ALMOST FORGOT STARTING TO SEE RUST SPOTS BESIDE THE INNER DOOR SILL PANEL

Check engine light came on so I scheduled a visit to the Mazda dealer where I purchased the CX5 in November of 2014. The technician said the PCM needed reprogramming...paid $190 to get that done.

The check engine light came back on within a week or so. Took it back...technician said that there was a new "update" that he was not aware of on my first visit. Assume that the update was done...no charge.

A couple of weeks later, the check engine light came back on...scheduled another visit to the dealer. His technician said that the Temp Sensors needed replacing...did that at a cost of $214 (said he gave me a little "cut" since it was not diagnosed properly on first visit). Drove the CX5 less than 10 miles after leaving the dealer after the sensors were replaced and the check engine light came back on. On the next visit, they kept the CX5 all day, called me and said that they finally had the problem diagnosed...the heater core needed replacing. I do think they might be right as my heater was not working as efficiently during a recent cold snap.

However, they are telling me the cost to replace will be possibly $1500!!!!!!!.

I have recommended the CX5 to several friends but with this problem coming up at only 48,000 miles I will not be doing any more recommending!!!
