CarComplaints.com Notes: The only area of real concern for 2012 Mazda CX-9 owners is the brake booster.

In 2014, Mazda extended the warranty on the 2007-2013 CX-9 brake booster to 7 years / 90,000 miles. However this extended warranty has expired for most CX-9 owners, so buyer beware.

This Mazda CX-9 brake booster failure isn't terrible in terms of repair cost — it "only" costs $550 average to fix. However it is a safety issue when the brake booster fails as it increases stopping distance. Owners have reported having to stomp on the brake pedal, & crashes/injuries have been reported due to this CX-9 brake booster defect.

I have a Mazda 2012 that spontaneously stalls while decelerating. It also stalls predictably on an incline. Mazda corporation has stated "the stalling on an incline is a characteristic of all CX-9 Models" and are not willing to fix it. They have informed me that stalling while decelerating has not been able to be recreated by their tech so they are doing nothing about it. I have been in two near miss accidents as the car loses power steering and braking and the drive has little to no control when the car starts. Please watch this video of a brand new (loaner from the dealer while they looked at my CX-9) 2013 CX-9 (125 miles on it) this is the "characteristic" I am referring to, please advise future buyers of this ver unsafe "characteristic". http://youtu.be/PBZhVIEihkc
