Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: Except for a minor issue with cracked motor mounts, the 2008 MAZDA3 is a fantastic vehicle with a great reputation.

If you need to replace the motor mounts, first ask your dealer if they'll cover it -- the motor mounts were dealt with in a TSB & were recalled for some model years. Otherwise buy aftermarket motor mounts -- owners report this solves the problem. If you use the same OEM parts, they may just crack again.

The contact owns a 2008 Mazda Mazda3. The contact was driving 50 mph in rainy weather when she attempted to activate the windshield wipers, but the wipers would not turn on. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the ground harness was replaced. Approximately three months later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000. Updated 01/13/12 the consumer stated a wire was found not properly secured. Updated 01/19/12
