Nothing has happened yet but Ive done a bunch of research and a lot of the 3rd generation Mazda 3's all have the same airbag code 16 flashing on their dash and it's not on any recall list

Problem with my 2016 Mazda 3 4-door. The front passenger seat cushion trim is coming off the seat frame at the front end. This is the same issue reported in technical bulletin 09-025/19 except that bulletin refers to models build in Mexico, mine was built in Japan. Tulley Mazda wants to charge me $500 to replace the defective part.

All seats separate from the base of the seat, meaning there is nothing holding the cushion that you sit on to the wire frame attached to the floor. The dealership informed me that the warranty solution after 7 attempts of fixing was to put zip ties through the nylon seat material and connect it to the base. This is not a solution to the problem since the thin nylon will just rip under pressure.
