Air bags are deadly. My grand daughter sits in the back seat which is very dangerous the seat belt never locks properly just a piece of trash.

Vehicle was involved in a front end collision while traveling approximately 30mph. The airbags deployed and the driver was wearing safety belt. After exiting vehicle, a fire was discovered near the bottom of the B-post. Fire burned and melted the interior trim and seatbelt, as well as causing heat damage to the driver's interior door and window. Fire was extinguished with a dry chemical extinguisher. Fire department investigation also found heavy fire damage to the seatbelt pretensioner, which was located in the area of fire origin.

The contact stated that due to a crash, the vehicle caught on fire at the base of the seat belt from locking down impact. A police report was filed. The driver and four passengers suffered injuries during the crash. The injuries included bruising and contusions. One of the passengers also suffered a broken collar bone after impacting with a seat. The vehicle was declared destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileages were unknown. Updated 05/09/12 the consumer stated the above vehicle ran a red light at high speed and T-boned a Toyota yaris. The driver of the Mazda was charged with dui and other offenses. There were five injured in the Mazda, one injured and one fatality in the Toyota yaris. Complaint submitted by sgt from the scene. Updated 06/01/12
