car is 4 yrs old. I have had it for 2yrs and 8 months. The last 3 summers it has been in an insulated garage not used at all,(4 mo. each yr) and its always garaged .The top looks brand new except where it fell apart, but its out of warranty(30000 mi) and Mazda says you fix it! Won,'t buy another Mazda!

MX-5 Miata Middle Of The Pack 4 cyl

This car is 40 months old. The vinyl top has problems - there are problems where the frame for the top over-stresses the vinyl and causes it to crack. The driver's side seam over the window also tore apart from the stresses involved.

Mazda area representative says Mazda won't do anything at all - not even a partial payment to help with replacement - because the car is several months out of warranty. Other folks tell me this is not an unusual occurrence with this car. Cost to fix is approximately 8 hours of labor and the cost of a new top - somewhere around $1500.00 as far as I know right now.

If I had known Mazda wouldn't stand behind their products I would have purchased a different roadster.
