Bought it used form a used car lot. A couple of months later discovered the recall which i never received, went to local dealer to find out more they said that this vehicle had already been processed and fixed under recall.

But looking at what they might have done was a brace that was supposed to hold the lower ball joint together which can't stop the subframe from rotting. That resulted in partial collapse of the subframe resulting in loss of control at an intersection causing a 2 vehicle crash, totaling my vehicle and i received an invoice for the other car in the amount of about 30k.

I am currently looking to start a class action lawsuit, all are invited to take part either starting their own lawsuit or joining an already started suit

My 2003 Mazda Tribute sub-frame on the passenger side has Corrosion that caused the frame to rot. The part that rotted holds the sub-frame to the body and the control-arm. The cause of this, I believe, was the AC condensation that dripped down on the frame (poor design) . Mazda knew that there was a problem with the sub-frame, which is why they did the recall and put the brace on to hold the parts together. This did not fix the Corrosion. The problem is still there. You can't put a BAND-AID on it. I intend to keep this car for as long as I can. This is a great car. Mazda should do the right thing and replace the sub-frame. I have a friend who owns a 2002 Tribute and he has the same problem. If you know anyone with this vehicle around these years, be sure to have them check for sub-frame corrosion.
