Because I didn't have a second transponder key the immoblizer locked it out and caused ------ in the odometer reading and the imoblizer sign. Had to have it to towed to the dealer after a month they replaced the pcm, gauge cluster and the ignition cylinder electrical they finally got it running . Final cost $1700 and 1 month without a vehicle. Ford has a recall on this why not Mazda since they are the same electronics. I won't buy another Mazda if it can't stay running over 100,000 miles.

I have been having ignition switch starting issues that have gotten worse to the point of not starting at all. I replaced the ignition lock cylinder and the ignition switch module. That did not fix the problem. It has to be the part that is fastened to the steering column. It seems to be a problem as I have read about it on the Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute forums. You might think a recall is in order about this?
