- the contact stated that while driving his 2000 Mercedes E320 (78000 failure mileage), he noticed a crack on the dashboard around the air bag, on the passenger seat. The vehicle was kept in a heated garage at about 60 degrees. The vehicle will be taken to the dealer this week for a prognosis.

: the contact stated, when the ignition was turned to start the vehicle, the right front and side airbags deployed. The air bags also deployed in the rear seats, where children were located. When the vehicle was towed to the service dealer, it was determined that the battery under the rear passenger seat had exploded, causing the air bag deployment. One injury was reported.
