seems like Mercedes has a repeat problem with wire insulation as my 1996 mb d300 needed harness replaced at my expense after 10 years ,,but i had problems beginning at year 5 which the engine light came on continuously and was given multiple reason none of which corrected the problem until the harness was changed after being found to have nearly every wire in the harness to have no insulation.
