2008 Mercedes Benz E-350. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle gas leak concerns. The consumer stated for the past few months, he noticed a very strong gas odor emanating from both the inside and outside of the vehicle. The smell was detected when the vehicle was being driven and when parked in an enclosed area after being driven. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, for an inspection. During the inspection, the dealer found there was indeed a gas leak in the right rear seat area. The gas leak was due to a defective fitting in the gas line from the tank to the motor.
