Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Submission from constituent re a letter she sent to Ford Motor Company on behalf of a recall notice for her 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis qs/4 dr. Ls sdn in August 29, 2013. The consumer stated the amount of money she paid for the vehicle, the parts should not rust, with such low miles on the vehicle. The consumer referenced recall # 13V385000. Also, the vehicle down-shifted and would barely stop, when the consumer approached a four-way stop sign.

The contact owns a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number 13V385000 (steering) had exceeded a reasonable time for repair. The dealer and the manufacturer had both advised the contact that the part needed to complete the recall service was on back order until January 2014. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had not experienced a failure.
