The contact owns a 2006 Mercury Mariner. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the alternator failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission and torque converter failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V526000 (hybrid propulsion system). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
