The contact owns a 2006 Mercury Mariner. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where it was stated that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 108,000. Updated 09/25/13 the vehicle began to stall when coming to a stop. The dealer confirmed, the transmission needed to be serviced.
