I was with my wife and 3 kids going to store, we went into parking lot and put truck into park an BOOM, both side air bags blew. I was fine, as my wife is 24 weeks pregnant and the air bag hit her in the arm and it bruised in sec. So I call Ford's main office and they take my report, waited a week, and they say nothing will happen. I tell them I'm getting a lawyer and they say wait. So now they will do the air bag test for free to see why it blew in park and now their legal people are going to get in touch with me this week about paying wife's medical bills as she was having side pains by the baby.
I have seen they have a recall for the 00 module for bad side air bags but when I told them about it they said I'm not covered in that recall. Well, seems to me the truck should be in recall now as the bags blew while in park as recall states. So if you have a 2001, please be careful.
