Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Eclipse 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

Engine burns oil at approx. 1 qt per week, also has possible leaks in engine with only 69,000 miles on engine. Has had regular oil changes for life of engine. Brake rotors warped and need replacement, unsure of when last changed. Transmission slips and shifts hard with slow or fast acceleration.

Have had to have car in 7 times for warped rotors and brakes. Dealership each time has told me I have to pay while under warranty. I did have to buy new brakes while car under warranty due to warped rotor wear. I have been told that I have to pay for all warped rotors and brakes even while under warranty. My brakes feel as though they are going to fail and possibly cause collision. Also, tire just fell off rim driving out of parking lot. Had to put new tires on car after 6 months ownership. Sunroof leaks. I have had this car only one year and six months. Thank you for your assistance.( dot number: )
