I have owned 3 other Mitsubishi prior to buying the Outlander. The Amp has blown 4 times, the first 3 were covered under warranty but the last one because I am at 83,000 miles it is not covered. I contacted Mitsubishi Corporate and they looked into the problem and said they would not help because it was caused by excessive dog hair. If the first 3 time the AMP was blown due to excessive dog hair, they never mentioned it. There is nothing in any documentation for the car that cautions that you must keep the area under the passenger seat free from all debris or the AMP will blow.

I do not believe that anyone buys an SUV thinking that they have to be careful to keep the car clean at all times. You buy an SUV because you have dogs, kids, haul a lot of stuff, etc. It is absolutely ridiculous that they are trying to tell me the cause of something that has failed 3 time previously is because of dog hair. This is extremely unfortunate because I have loved the car and its performance outside of the radio failing 4 times!

I am extremely disappointed in Mitsubishi and I will never ever buy another automotive from them nor will any of my friends or family members. You would hope that being a loyal brand customer for over 20 years and never having complained about any other issue before would be enough to have Mitsubishi cover the cost of the new AMP, but instead they chose to use the bogus excuse and lose a long term customer. BEWARE!
