Altima owners report that up to a basketball-size hole develops under the floor mats where the floor pan metal rusts through. Average repair cost is over $1,000.

The broken motor mounts are less of a problem - they break at ~75,000 miles average & it's $400 to fix. Still, motor mounts should not break!

Altima 2.5S V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130,000 miles

My 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5S has been turning over, but not starting. I've replaced a significant amount of parts that could be the problem (starter, gaskets, fuel injectors, etc.), but I always end up with the same problem. When it starts, you can see a spark where the starter is in the engine, definitely not safe at all. Many people seem to be experiencing the same issue for Nissan Altima's, therefore a recall should absolutely be made. I have brought the car to many mechanics who have suggested the problem, replaced parts, and nothing changes.

I went on Nissan's website to search recalls on a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 L engine. The crankshaft position sersor was recalled 11/14/07. I was never notififed of this recall. I called the number listed to call about this recall and guess what, they tell me that my car was not one of the ones in the recall. Even though my car was manufactured during the exact time frame, they said my vin# is not on their recall list. How is this possible? Does anyone know how to help me with this?

This was a shocker!!!! I was out of town and had to spend my vacation at a repair shop. The car jerked again and again all the way home, even after the so-call repair. Three days later if went back to the shop for the same problem.
