Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact stopped the vehicle on the shoulder of the highway and attempted to shut the vehicle off by removing the key from the ignition. The engine remained on after the key was removed from the ignition. The vehicle eventually shut off. The contact restarted the vehicle and noticed smoke escaping from the engine compartment. When the contact looked under the hood it was on fire. The fire and police department reported to the scene and report was filed. The vehicle was not repaired and was declared destroyed. The contact was not made aware of what caused the fire to occur. When the contact purchased the vehicle the dealer did not notify him of NHTSA recall campaign id number: 07V267000 (engine and engine cooling) which the vehicle was included and could be related to the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.
