For a couple of months, I occasionally heard a loud popping sound that I thought was my speakers. Then I realized it was my windshield cracking farther and farther. It started at the base of the windshield, where it couldn't even be seen from inside the car. When I examined the crack, there was no impact site from a rock, etc.

2012 Nissan Altima SL windshield cracked for no apparent reason. Dealer took pictures but Nissan Canada declined to cover under warranty. The cracking of the windshield for no apparent reason seems to be a common problem for Nissan Altimas. Nissan Canada said that this was probably due to the extreme temperatures. If this is the case, why is Nissan Canada selling their cars in Canada?

All I can say that I believe that Nissan is hiding from the fact that the windshield is "non-warrantable" when in reality this is a design issue or an improper installation or the use of improper materials or gauge (e.g. cheap glass). I will be complaining until the government takes note of this problem and forces Nissan to issue a recall. In the end, Nissan inaction speaks volumes about their business ethics, their lack of goodwill and their car's poor quality.
