Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Nissan Altima has multiple problem trends including the CVT transmission, and now that this model is out of warranty, it earns our "avoid like the plague" badge.

Owners complain about vibration and transmission failure related to the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a whining noise from the power steering pump, and constant windshield problems that appear to be the result of poor design.

Be warned: the 2014 & 2015 Nissan Altima appears to share these same problems.

The passenger side airbag activation mechanism in some of 2013 Nissan Altima doesn't work properly. Nissan already had two recalls on it but they never able to fix it. Even if someone is sitting on passenger side, the airbag light on the dashboard is activated randomly, that means airbag will not open in case of crash. It is a very serious flaw. In the recent recall they simply made a S/w update to flip the airbag light switch on/off logic. Nothing was done to fix the core issue. It again randomly switches on/off when a person is sitting. I have talked to Nissan and they don't seem to care about it. They are just trying to hide or circumvent this issue or trying to tell customers that there is no issue at all. It has been more than three years and Nissan is not fixing this issue.everytime they will say it's fixed either after recall or repair but in reality they are just trying to circumvent it through S/w upgrades.

I finance a 2013 Nissan Altima S, I noticed that my engine light, air bag light, brake light and tire pressure light kept coming on all at once, and would stay on for a day or two and then would go away on it's own yet the car never gave any physical signs that a problem was going on. So I assumed that maybe there was a sensor problem. I was leaving from work when I approached a stop sign and came to a stop. As I proceed to step on the gas to go is when I noticed that the car had shut off on me yet the radio and lights were still working. I tried to start the car up when the warning symbol came on stating that my key pad was invalid.that continued until the tow truck driver arrived resulting in him towing the car away to cherry hill Nissan. It was there that I was told that at 80,000 miles my transmission had went yet no one could give me an explanation as to why or what caused the problem. Now as of 10/22/2016 I am having the same signs and symptoms that were going on before my transmission went the first time with all the warning symbols coming on for a few days then going back off all on their own. 10/26/2016 my car cut off on me as I was in route. After getting it to start back up I immediately stopped at auto zone where they hooked my car up to their diagnostic machine and reported to me that my computer brain was malfunctioning.I won't know for certain what is actually going with my car until Monday 10/31/2016 when I take it into Nissan of turnersville so they can run test. In which I was informed over the phone that beings though the warning symbols come on and off on their own they may not be able to diagnosis what the actual problem is. How do I handle this matter if they can't figure out what causing the problem? I've already contacted corporate Nissan and they couldn't even tell me if the recalls that occurred prior to me getting the car were ever address

I was in an accident and the air bags did not deploy. My children and I were injured. I serviced my car at Nissan for the airbag recall twice. I received a recall from NHTSA and Nissan wouldn't comply. Every time I've taken my car for the brake pads to be serviced I only need rotors never brake pads! the driver side door handle broke for no reason what so ever this car is a clunker!

I received two recall notices (airbag related and hood latch). I contacted the dealer as advised on the notice and was told that a recall specialist would have to call me me back to schedule. I did not hear from anyone for two weeks and then called the number listed on the notice for Nissan national Consumer Affairs, as this was recommended if the dealer is unresponsive. The representative gave me a case number (22894092) and transferred me to my local dealer again. I was again told that I would be contacted by the service department to schedule this maintenance, but I have not heard back. It has been over one month since I initially called to schedule.
