rust appearing in the interior

A few weeks ago while vacuuming my Nissan's interior, when looking down between the front seats and center console, I noticed several parts of the seatbelt connector assembly were rusted (see photo). This is puzzling, being that the interior of the car has never been wet. A few months ago, when replacing my cabin filter, I also noticed rust on the body of the car, just below the glove-box. I will inform the Nissan Dealership about this when I take my car in for servicing this weekend.
