accelerator won't respond when pressed

Come back from Yellowstone National Park to Missouri on June 28, 2015, we started having issues with the car not accelerating when the gas pedal was pressed. It was take a full 2 seconds for the car to respond.

On several occasions, when trying to pull out and merge into traffic, we've almost had other cars hit us because of this. I've taken this to the local dealership (Youngblood Motors in Springfield, MO) twice now, and both times they cannot find any issues (surprise, huh?).

This problem is random and intermittent. I have opened a case with Nissan about this issue.

According to the dealership, they have been seeing this issue with other Altimas. However, no known fix, or even repro, has been achieved.

Yesterday, May 11th, my wife almost got hit by oncoming traffic due to this problem. I find this completely unacceptable. I'm thinking that I may go back to my Toyota's and Honda's if they don't resolve this problem quickly.
