As soon as I got the car home, I went to store, and the airbag light came on. Took car back to Nissan that next week, and they tell me the rear air bag is defective. It was going to cost me over $1500 to fix. They stated, we don’t cover the rear air bags, do you want me to just disconnect it? I was so mad, said every four letter word in the book! Still not fixed, I will wait until something happens I guess.

Altima Special Edition 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 31,000 miles

I only drive my car from home to work and sometimes a short road trip to visit family. I only have 32000 miles on my car and the POS Airbag warning for the driver seat stays on warning hat if I get in an accident, the airbags will not deploy. At one point I was told it would be $221 to fix, then they finally got the part and said $800, and now they have moved up to $1700 to fix the problem.

I am fighting because this is an airbag issue. I have had no accident no problems with my car bought new. I am not at fault and should not be at fault for airbag issues. That is a mandatory device for a car. It is not right that I am fighting to get a "goodwill" price to fix the problem. It should be a manufactures error and seeing that this has happened to many other cars, it should be a RECALL!

I'm not sure how this can't be warranty item. This isn't a wear and tear item and there was nothing we could have done to cause the problem. We need to pursue class action against Nissan.

Altima S 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,000 miles

The passenger airbag light comes on while my wife is seated in front passenger seat and while the vehicle is moving. This has happened on several occasions and the dealership could find nothing wrong. Very concerned that the bags won't deploy when needed. Please fix this problem.
