Brake light comes on while driving. I use the brakes and they feel spongy and have awful grinding noise. Seems like it's coming from by the brake pedal. Very scared to drive children and grandchildren in car, let alone me driving it. I pull over, turn car off and it goes away. It might be fatal if on winding road on snow or rain. May hit someone if it fails at high speed.

This is like the third time or more I have had to use the street curb to stop my truck because the brakes randomly just went out. Driving down the street and I here a slight ping and the brakes have basically zero hydraulic pressure , no stop and I have to use the curb in order to stop. This problem is so dangerous and so random that I really have a huge fear of driving this truck, you never know when the brakes are going to go out and if you will be in a situation where you can stop or NOT!!!!!

This issue with the brakes on my 2008 Nissan Armada is very unsafe and should be listed for the 2008 model under recalls. This is an issue that Nissan is well aware of and shoud be taken care of by nissan to ensure the safety of their consumer.

THe ABS brake light just pops on out of no where and you suddenly have no brakes, front brakes for me I believe. after carefully pumping the brake pad to a not so suttle stop, I turn the vehicle off and sit for about 3-5 minutes then turn the vehicle back on and the issue has reset it self.

Yesterday while driving at about 40mph on a 2 lane road, the brake light suddenly came on. When I went to stop at the next stoplight to look to pull over, the brakes made a crunching sound and triggered the car to jerk and not stop. This was light pressure on the brake. I had no control over ability to stop suddenly. Luckily I was literally across from a Midas at the next intersection and pulled in. I was very scared that I had no ability to stop as I crossed onward lanes of traffic to get to the parking lot of Midas.

I have now learned that this is a design flaw that is well known for Nissan Armada and Titans. Yet I have never heard of this problem. As an Armada owner, why did Nissan not notify me? Nissan has been recalling several years of the Armada due to this problem, but not (yet) the 2008 and there are no notices on my VIN that anything may be wrong.

My husband and I now want to sell the car as soon as possible, as I do not feel safe driving it as I'm told this could happen at any time, without warning. What if I had my kids in the car and was on the freeway? This is a tragic accident just waiting to happen, and I'm surprised that it's not being reported on more widely. I plan to call the corporation to lodge this complaint as well, but meantime, I wanted to put this out there that the 2008 Nissan Armada has intermittent brake failure triggering the ABS and although I'm paying to get this fixed now, it could happen again, without warning, at any time.

Update from Oct 24, 2013: Now they announce recalls of the Nissan Armadas but not for the 2008. I have the EXACT same problem as they are doing the recall for, why not recall the 2008? I wrote Nissan and am ready to submit to NHSTB and the BB. But meanwhile, I am afraid to drive this car...I really fear this is only a matter of time that a critical traffic accident is caused by one of these Armadas.
