when I go out to the car to leave. I try to start the car and it doesn't start up.

It's very irritating to be sitting at the gas pump, leaving church, etc and can't because this stupid car won't start. What could be the problem

Recently the car has developed a problem starting. After the key is inserted in the ignition switch and turned nothing happens. After several tries the car starts. However, there are occasion’s when the car starts immediately. The car was taken to a mechanic; the starter and all other components were checked. The result was there is no signal coming from the ignition to the starter not sure how many other electrical components are involved. Final recommendation, take the car to the dealer. Is taking the car to the dealer in the only available option. Help.
