Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

"takata recall" NHTSA campaign number: 05V319000 I experienced the exact same issue described in the campaign number above. I called the pischke motors Nissan in lacrosse Wisconsin about the problem. They simply told me that there was no recall regarding that issue. They said that my Murano was made after that recall was addressed however, as mentioned, I'am seeing the exact same problem. The vehicle was in a parking lot in motion when it failed.

My back driver side door would not unlock or lock this morning. It was working fine yesterday afternoon. I tried to unlock from the inside and appears that the lock button is not working as it should. I cannot open the door at all from outside or inside. I only use the key itself and unlock or lock doors with the panel buttons.

I was driving out of my driveway, when the car stalled and hesitated. I saw the battery light and the brake light come on, so I drove the car slowly down the street in front of my apartment, and parked it there. I later read that this was common on Nissan Muranos, model years 2003 through 2007, and a recall campaign, 05V319000 was started.

This complaint relates to a closed recall for the 2005 Nissan Murano NHTSA campaign id number: 05V3190. Two months with the vehicle and I had transmission problems, where the vehicle lost power and drive-ability, bringing my passengers and myself to a harms way. I contracted aamco to replace the transmission, one month later, Nissan usa had to provide another transmission to replace the one changed one month before. Last Monday, July 06, 2015, while driving on the New Jersey garden state parkway, the vehicle presented serious trouble, when the emergency brake, AWD and ABS warning lights came on, as the vehicle lost speed, transmission disengaged, putting my wife, myself and other vehicles around us in serious risk of accident. I managed to pull the vehicle to the shoulder and later to a near by friend`S house in the galloway area. After contacting Nissan usa regarding the transmission, they told me to contact aamco, since they installed the new transmission. Aamco checked the vehicle and found out that, the problem was caused by the alternator that heated up, dropped voltage to 12V DC and caused the safe mode to engage, by making the vehicle unsafe on the middle of the highway. Nissan usa claims that this NHTSA campaign has been closed, when it is to my believe that, it should be re-opened and not only me, but also many other Nissan Murano owners, that still confront such factory defective issues to have this issue resolved. I was lucky to be able to act fast enough and bring my vehicle to safes way, would all others be so lucky?

The problem with my car was the involuntary locking of all doors without my involvement whenever I parked the car somewhere. This proved very inconvenient at times when I didn't have my car keys with me. The dealer kept the car for a few days only to tell me they could not solve the problem. They didn't even offer to contact Nissan with the problem.

My driver side rear door began malfunctioning when using the remote and button door lock controls. All doors would lock but the driver side rear door would remain unlocked. The same was true when unlocking all doors with remote or buttons. All doors would unlock accept the driver side rear door. The issue has now progressed to other doors in the car with increasing frequency including the rear hatch not opening at all and I have not manual button to flip to allow the hatch to open.

I had a check engine light and an airbag light appear on my dash. While driving on the beltway the ABS light came on and my car slowed down and wouldn't tee pond to the gas pedal. After about 2 minutes it kicked back in so I took it to get a diagnostic from a Nissan dealer the next morning. They told me everything was fine according to the computer there were a lot of codes that popped up but they told me they weren't happening anymore. I asked of they checked all of the wires they told me yes. So I took my vehicle and later that night while driving back from lunch break the ABS light came on again and the Murano slowed down as before only this time it cut completely off. It only held a jump for about 5 blocks before it cut off again. I had it towed back to the dealer the next morning and they told me they can't check anything unless I purchase a new battery so I bought a new battery and they put it in and told me everything was fine again it just needed a new battery. They told me everything was reading fine but in my opinion that was because it was feeding off the juice of a new battery. About 2 hours after leaving the dealer the same thing happen again with a new battery while I was driving. The ABS light came on the car slowed down this time the meters went crazy then it cut off. Only by the grace of god that no one was injured with my car cutting off while I'm driving. I called the dealer and they were not willing to do anything different and they told me my VIN number is not under a recall. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs after a week of waiting and unreturned calls I finally talked to a regional manager from Tennessee by the name of [xxx] only because I got transferred to him and all he told me was Nissan will not help you out financially. He didn't discuss the issue or offer solutions and showed no concern for safety only money even though I never asked for it. Began having issues with the locks to the point the rear hatch locks and won't unlock, not all doors lock or unlock anymore. Took to our mechanic and when he replaced the switch it still didn't work. He did some research and said this is an issue from Nissan directly with the actuators.

We have a 2005 Nissan Murano that has had the door lock actuators fail repeatedly since we've owned the car. When the locks fail, the doors and rear hatch can not be opened or locked with either the remote fob or the electric controls on the doors. They need to be opened manually by releasing the locking lever by hand. Often when they fail the rear hatch can not be opened because there is not a manual release this is extremely dangerous and is a known problem with this style of door lock actuator. Nissan is aware of this issue and has deemed the repair out of warranty even though this problem has occurred while under warranty and ever since. The individual actuator for each door approaches $500 in cost. They've advised to not have this problem, buy a new vehicle which is not acceptable. There are numerous instances of internet complaints on this issue. General Motors ignored their problems for years and Nissan is effectively ignoring this problem. The design of the lock actuator itself is defective and needs to be replaced with a better designed component.

Passenger door, passenger-side rear door, driver-side rear door and trunk door will not unlock while pressing the key fob twice. Manually unlocking the doors by using the keyhole on the outside of the driver door does not solve the above problem. Manually unlocking the doors by using the driver / passenger side unlock button on the armrest does not solve the above problem. Trunk door cannot be opened with any of the above means due to absence of manual lock/unlock lever on the exterior of the door.

Nissan Murano door actuators have failed on 2 of 4 doors, leaving me unable to enter/exit my vehicle with the remote. In addition, I cannot open the trunk of the vehicle unless the passenger door actuator is working, which it does not. The inside door locks do not move, so I do not know if my car is ever locked or unlocked, again, safety concern. Please investigate this, as I know other owners have complained and Nissan continues to ignore this as an issue!!!
