My 2005 Nissan Pathfinder SE with 22K miles had the service engine light come on and the dte (distance to empty) indicator began to malfunction. Since the vehicle is still under warranty I took it to a dealer. As with complaint numbers 10200004 and 10176618 the problem was determined to be the fuel level sensor. The dealer replaced the part and it was under warranty.

Pathfinder 6-cyl

At 56000 miles my cars computer and fuel gauge decided to malfunction. I filled the car up with gas and immediately the check engine light came on. The fuel gauge will not go below 1/2 tank. After taking it to the dealer it is a fuel sending unit that is not covered under warranty and is a $400 repair. This car is less than 2 years old and now I am having to spend $400 so I can tell if I have gas! updated 12/31/07
