After I filled up, the fuel gauge continued to register as full even as I continued to use up the gas in the tank. I understand that this is a "usual" problem with Nissan. I bought the car from carmax in December 2011, and it had approx. 13K miles on it. The problem did not appear until I had driven it for over 2K miles.
