Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the seat belts were not structurally sound and connected. The dealer stated that they were at fault for releasing the vehicle without the seat belts fully functioning. The contact was unable to determine when the dealer would provide a diagnostic and repair. The failure mileage was not available.

The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the driver and passenger side seat belts detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure however, the seat belt was tightened as a temporary remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who sent an engineer to evaluate the vehicle. The engineer stated that a crush washer was missing from the seat belt assembly and as a result, both needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 10,000 and the current mileage was 12,000.
